I know who Kephardt is, or course, but haven't read his book (books?), so I thought I might start a separate inquiry on a new favorite that Mr. Carden introduced to me. Gary gave me a copy of McCarthy's Child of God, which gave me an introduction. I recently read The Orchard Keeper, which gives another vivid, detailed look at an Appalachian community. Has anyone else read this and have any impressions, opininons?
